School seals torn off for third time

While the interrogation of people who prevented Kurdish schools from being occupied by Turkish police and who were taken into custody is continuing in the police department in Amed, 8 people were released in the early hours of the morning.

After the school which is providing students with education in Kurdish was sealed by Turkish police, the people started marching towards the police HQ of Amed. It was reported that over 90 people, including teachers at the Ferzad Kemanger primary school and NGO delegations were taken into custody. The people in Amed, learning that the arrested people were being held at the anti-terror branch in Amed, started to march towards the police HQ.

The Kurdish school was sealed by the Turkish police for the third time based on a decision taken by the Governer's office in Amed, and the people tore off the seals for a third time and reopened the school.

Yesterday, police attacked people who were holding a vigil in front of the school in order to prevent the police from sealing it. After the attack,  incidents broke out and 91 people, including 4 children, were taken into custody. 8 people were subsequently released, and the interrogation of 83 people is reported to be continuing.
