SDF fighters about to reach the Euphrates River
The Operation Cizire Storm launched to liberate surroundings of Deir ez-Zor is about to leave a significant phase behind.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to report progress in the Operation Cizire Storm, which has been relaunched in the rural areas of Deir ez-Zor near the Syria-Iraq border.
SDF fighters are clearing the mines in the region and they have only 2 km left to the village of Baxoz on the shore of the Euphrates River.
The Operation Cizire Storm, which had been halted due to attacks by the occupying Turkish state on Afrin, was launched again on May 1. SDF has advanced 21 km at Syrian-Iraqi border since the relaunch of the campaign.
