SDF fighters welcomed with joy in liberated villages

Residents of the liberated al-Darwish village welcomed the SDF fighters saying “We have felt peace when you arrived after ISIS put us through very difficult times.”

The village of al-Darwish has been liberated by YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the ongoing Operation Cizire Storm.

Residents of the village welcomed the SDF fighters with great joy and happiness, saying that they have been freed of ISIS mercenaries, that perpetrate crimes against humanity, with the arrival of the SDF.

The people said they have found peace and tranquility with the arrival of SDF fighters, saying; “We never slept in peace. ISIS mercenaries are thieves, they turned our time to pain.”

A woman from the village told that her son died after stepping on a mine, summarizing the pain they suffered saying; “I saw how the parts of my son’s body scattered around.”

People of the village presented sweet to the fighters to celebrate the liberation from ISIS darkness.

SDF Command Member Egid Heseke said they are living the joy of Eid al-Fitr (religious holiday marking the end of Ramadan month) also with the liberation of their village.

Heseke told; “The gangs cannot return to our land. They cannot resist against our fighters. For this reason, they are using bomb-laden vehicles to stop the advance of our fighters.”

Speaking about the campaign Operation Cizire Storm, Egid Heseke said they are advancing towards the Dashisha town on the western front, adding; “We have taken a 20-km area under our control. We have entered the al-Darwish village and the gangs have lost their morale. When we engage in battles with them, they are defeated and they flee. People of the region are happy with our arrival.”
