SDF repels ISIS attack in Deir ez-Zor operation
ISIS attacked the Tanaq oil field and Al-Shal village that was liberated recently by the SDF forces in Deir ez-Zor campaign. The attacks were repelled and 14 ISIS members were killed.
The Operation Cizire Storm launched by YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on September 9 to liberate Deir ez-Zor territory from ISIS, continues at full force.
ISIS gangs attacked the village of Al-Shal Tuesday afternoon. The attack was repelled following fierce clashes between SDF fighters and ISIS gangs in the village. 9 ISIS members were killed, 3 bomb laden vehicles of theirs were destroyed and ammunition belonging to them was seized during the fighting.
On the other hand, ISIS gangs launched an attack on the positions of SDF fighters in Tanaq oil field, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor, that was liberated from ISIS three days ago.
During the ensuing clashes here, 5 ISIS members were killed, one vehicle of theirs was destroyed and one other was seized by the fighters.
