Second week of action promoted by TJK-E and KCDK-E ends in Strasbourg

The four-week action organised in Strasbourg by Kurdish associations ended with the condemnation of the silence kept by Europe on the expansionism of the Turkish state. Activists called on the peoples to jointly fight against fascism.

The second week of the sit-in launched on 12 May by the Kurdish European umbrella organizations European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) and European Democratic Kurdistan Community Congress (KCDK-E) within the campaign “Avashin, Zap, Metina everywhere, against occupation and genocide. Dem Dem Dema Azadiye!" ended in Strasbourg. The third week will begin on Monday.

The sit-in in front of the European institutions in Brussels is supported by 78 organizations from Kurdistan and Turkey based in Europe. The organisations are protesting against the Turkish invasion of South Kurdistan and the massacres of the Kurdish people.

The participants held pictures of fallen guerrilla fighters with the words in French "Nos enfants" (Our children). The activists accused Europe for its silence on the declared expansionism of the Turkish state and called on everyone to fight together against fascism. The vigil has soon become a place for meeting and discussion.
