Series of demos in Greece against Öcalan's isolation and AKP's attacks

Kurds living in Greece are in the streets against the isolation imposed upon Öcalan and the AKP’s attacks on municipalities and the free press.

Greece People’s Assembly has organised a 4-day long protest against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the trustee appointments to DBP municipalities and the closing of Kurdish and opposition television and radio networks in the capital Athens.

First protest started yesterday in Syntagma Square in front of the parliament. Kurdish demonstrators opened a stand in the square and protested the AKP’s coupist practices with the flyers they passed out.

The satellite provider Eutelsat which shut down Med Nûçe TV’s broadcast was also protested for “being an accomplice to Erdoğan” and the protesters demanded the company step back from the decision immediately.

The People’s Assembly called all Kurds in Greece to meet in Syntagma Square every day between 15:00 and 21:00 hours.
