Procedures at the police department have been completed for 27 people who were taken into custody in Konak, Torbalı, Menemen, Karşıyaka and Buca districts of İzmir on November 24. The 27 people who were referred to prosecutor’s office were reportedly detained due to social media reports and denunciation.

11 of the detainees were released after giving their statements at the prosecutor’s office, while the other 16 were referred to court for alleged “membership to and spreading propaganda for a terrorist organization”.

9 of the detainees were released on condition of judicial control after appearing before court while the remaining 7 were remanded in custody and sent to prison on alleged charges of “membership to and spreading propaganda for a terrorist organization”.
