Sinjar aid crosses into Rojava
As aid collected for Sinjar was delivered to Rojava through the border gate of Nusaybin, work is continuing in the Silvan district of Amed for the accommodation of 500 Yezidi Kurds.
Mardin
Humanitarian aid collected within the scope of the aid campaign initiated by the people in the region and the municipalities for the people from Sinjar and Rojava is being sent to Qamishlo through the Nusaybin border gate. Sara Kaya, who is the co-mayor of Nusaybin Municipality, was there while the aid was being sent. 4 trucks from Mersin, 1 truck from Van, 2 trucks from Cizre, 3 trucks from Kızıltepe and 1 truck from Nusaybin were sent to Qamishlo in Rojava from the Nusaybin border gate. The aid trucks were received by the co-president of the association of humanitarian aid collecting, Hember Hesen, and other executives of the association.
A contribution from children in Derik
Activities are being organised for the Yezidi children who escaped from the attacks of ISIS gangs in Sinjar to the Derik district of Mardin, in order to recover from trauma and fear. The activities which were carried out by the Derik Municipality Qedrîcan culture and art centre included sketches, games for children and activities in children parks. The children from Derik are also joining these activities in order to be in solidarity with Yezidi children. The trainer of the Qedrîcan culture and art centre, Selçuk Doğan, issued a statement saying that their main purpose is to help the Yezidi children to recover from trauma and fear and to create a warm communication between Yezidi children and children in Derik. He said that the activities will continue without interruption.
Şırnak
The teacher of the house of Educational support belonging to the Silopi Municipality and members of the Silopi Student Association (SO-DER) organised a music, painting and cinevision demonstration for Yezidi children. The Yezidi children sung and their parents watched them. Yezidi children drew pictures of Melekê Tavûs (Peacock Angel-sacred for Yezidis) and the sun. The paintings of the children were exhibited for their families. A worker of the house of Educational support Sefer Abalak informed the people about the activities. He stated that these activities will continue for the Yezidi children in order for them to recover from the fear of the massacres carried out by the ISIS gangs. Abalak said that those activities will continue every evening and he thanked all those who had contributed.
Amed
The preparations for Yezidi people are continuing in the Silvan district of Amed, where a new living area is being constructed for 500 Yezidi people in the Serê Gulanê park. While 3 tents have been set up, it is reported that tents are continuing to be set up. The construction of the toilets, bathroom and laundry are continuing.
Meanwhile, people started to collect necessities for the Yezidis in front of the Silvan Municipality.
Yüksekova
A kermes (bazaar) campaign which will continue for 4 days was organised by the coordination of democratic society women in Gever (Yüksekova) in solidarity with Yezidi people. Bazaar stalls were set up near the former prison, at the Zagros working centre and at the municipal police department attracted intensive attention. Food and handicrafts made by women are being sold on the stalls.
