Sit in against ban of Democratic Solution Tents

The decision by Diyarbakir Governorship to ban the "Democratic Solution Tents" is being protested with a sit-in action in front of Guesthouse which has been blockaded by police. BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Co-Chair Hamit Geylani showed reaction against Erdogan’s statement about ‘Civil Friday’, saying; “He has reached the point of denying our prayers, which shows the end point he has come in this deadlock”.

Making a statement before the sit-in act, BDP Co-Chair Hamit Geylani began his speech saying that they are decisive to continue the acts despite all pressures and interventions. Geylani, reminding that the tents are put up to ensure a democratic solution and social peace, said; “They rifled and brought down all the tents but they couldn’t manage to spoil and destroy the people’s will”.

Reacting to Prime Minister Erdogan who said that there is no Kurdish problem, Geylani spoke as follows; “This system’s inheritor AKP (Justice and Development Party) and its leader Erdogan have obviously displayed their double dealing by appearing on various TV channels and making the current issue unsolvable. In Amed he had said ‘There is a Kurdish problem and that is my problem’, and now he says ‘Our Kurdish brothers have a Kurdish problem’. He is talking about Kurdish brothers but the brotherhood has a procedure. The problem cannot be solved through brotherhood literature”. Geylani added that all election offices and streets have been an act area for a democratic solution in the election process.
