The sit-in protest in Strasbourg against isolation, occupation and genocide is in its second week.
The four-week sit-in protest in Strasbourg is organised together with the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil. The silence of the European states against the attack against the Kurdish people and the occupation in Kurdistan was protested by activists.
The European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) and the European Democratic Kurdistan Community Congress have launched the action within the campaign “Avashin, Zap, Metina everywhere, against occupation and genocide. Dem Dem Dema Azadiye!" on 12 May.
The action is supported by 78 Kurdish and Turkish institutions in Europe.
Stating that the Turkish State's invasion attempt of South Kurdistan, the absolute isolation imposed upon Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the massacres against the Kurds were sustained by the economic and arms support provided to Turkey by the European countries, the activists call on Europe not to be a part of these crimes against humanity and the Kurds.
Fatoş Göksungur, co-chair of the KCDK-E, joined the action.
