SOHR reported that the number of civilians killed in a massacre by Turkish warplanes in Al Bab city has risen to 72.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement that the number of civilians who were killed by the Turkish massacre continue raising after more corpses were pulled from the rubble caused by the aerial bombardment and some of the wounded passed away due to the lack of medical sources.
The number of civilians massacred by Turkish warplanes rose to 72 who include 21 children and 13 women, and 9 families at least. The casualties of the airstrike are considered the largest mass massacred by Turkish airstrikes since Turkey's intervention in Syria.
SOHR published yesterday that the number rose to 51 at least, of fighters and members of “Euphrates Shield” forces and Turkish forces supporting them who were killed in the attack on the western area of al-Bab city, and in the detonation of one booby trapped vehicle at least by the ISIS. These include 16 soldiers of the Turkish forces, as was declared by Turkish authorities.
According to SOHR figures, the number of ISIS members killed in this attack, and in the shelling and clashes which accompanied it, rose to 33. On the other hand, tens of members of both parties were injured during the fierce clashes that took place between the two sides.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights recalled that the Turkish forces crossed the Syrian borders on the 24th of August 2016, at the beginning of al-Furat (Euphrates) Shield operation led by rebel factions backed by Turkish forces.
While these forces advanced into Jarablus and wide areas of Aleppo northern and northern eastern countryside, this was followed by the dispatchment of more tanks, soldiers and vehicles by Turkey into rebel held areas of the northern countryside, taking control on what's left of the border line between the western sides of Euphrates River reaching A’zaz and al-Bab city few weeks ago.
