A Turkish non-commissioned officer was shot by two unidentified assailants while shopping with his wife in Bağlar district of the main Kurdish city Amed late yesterday evening.

The non-commissioned officer, 24-year-old Necdet Aydoğdu, who was immediately taken under treatment at Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital has lost his life early today.

The governor's office in Amed said in a written statement about the incident that Aydoğdu was shot by two people at close range.
