On 1 November, World Kobanê Day, the people maintaining a vigil in the Mehser and Misaynter villages at the border have formed a human chain in order to greet the Kobanê resistance.
Hundreds of people have come from other cities such as Istanbul, Malatya and Maraş.
On 1 November, World Kobanê Day, declared following an appeal signed by world renowned intellectuals, writers and members of NGOs, actions have taken place in the villages of Miseynter and Mehser at the border where vigils are being held in solidarity with the resistance in Kobanê.
Hundreds of people from many cities such as Istanbul, Maraş, Antep, Malatya, Adıyaman, Izmir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Sivas and Çorum have joined the resistance at the border today.
With the participation of these hundreds of people coming from other cities, a human chain was formed in the Mehser and Meseynter villages in support of the resistance of YPG and YPJ fighters and to greet them. In the action in Mehser village people have turned their faces to Kobanê holding hands. People first paid homage to those YPG and YPJ fighters who have fallen in the Kobanê resistance, and then chanted the slogans “Bijî Berxwedana Kobanê” (Long Live the Kobanê Resistance), and “Bijî YPG/ YPJ” (Long Live YPG/YPJ). Youth dressed in traditional Kurdish clothes and holding PKK flags were welcomed by the people in the area with slogans such as “Bijî Serok Apo” (Long Live President Apo) and “Kurdistan will be a grave for ISIS”.
Following the human chain, the actions for Kobanê Day at the border started. People joined the funeral of Hüseyin Çelik, who lost his life in a car accident in Mehser village. The actions of the people in the villages at the border will continue with a massive march that will go from Dewsen and Miseynter villages to Mehser.
