Solidarity from Venezuela

The Patriotic Council of Women (Consejo Patriótico de Mujeres) of the Great Patriotic Pole of Venezuela has sent a solidarity message to the Kurdish people.
In their message the women say that Sakine Cansız, a co-founder of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Fidan Doğan, representative of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) in Paris, and Leyla Şaylemez, member of the Kurdish youth movement, who were killed in Paris on 9 January, represent a great loss for all the freedom fighters, for justice and for equality.
The Venezuelan women also point out that the Kurds are proposing a new concept of social and geopolitical organization (the democratic confederalism) and the murders ocurred at a time when talks with Abdullah Öcalan had just started again. The women end their statement by condeming the murders and the criminalization of the resistance struggle carried out by peoples like the Kurds, the Saraui, the Palestinians. The women also call on the French government to ensure a speedy and thorough investigation and to ensure justice and truth.
