Solidarity hunger strike in Copenhagen

Hunger strike actions in solidarity with HDP MP Leyla Güven demanding an end to the isolation on Öcalan, continue growing.

Kurdish citizens, who went on hunger strike in the tent they put up in Copenhagen, made a press statement about the action.

Natalie, from the Rojava Committee, read the statement in Danish and English on behalf of civil society organizations.

The statement pointed out that the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People's Leader was contrary to the laws of the Turkish state and international laws, and that the Turkish state is actually committing a crime.

The statement called on the Danish government and the European Union to condemn and oppose solitary confinement and urged the CPT to visit Imrali and to meet with Öcalan.

Jinên Ciwanen Azad said in a statement that Kurdish youth will fight until securing the release of Öcalan.

Activists chanted slogans like ‘Bijî Serok Apo, Be Serok jiyan nabê, Jin jiyan azadi’.
