While the uprising in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan continues unabated, solidarity actions are taking place in many places. There were protests in Aachen, Dresden and Bern on Tuesday.
Aachen
In Aachen, several hundred people gathered for a rally promoted by the Kurdish Community Centre.
The activists remembered the death of Jina Mahsa Amini at the hands of the Iranian "morality police" and expressed their solidarity with the uprising in Iran. Representatives of Kurdish, Iranian and German organisations spoke at the rally, as well as the exiled HDP deputy Tuğba Hezer. Banners called for the overthrow of the Mullah regime and commemorated the Kurdish woman Jina Mahsa Amini, who was killed by the Iranian morality police. Women threw hijabs on the ground and burned them.
Dresden
In Dresden, several hundred people took to the streets under the slogan "Solidarity with the struggle for self-determination in Iran". Following the call of the Uta Women's Council, Defend Rojava and Iranian women's organisations, the participants marched through the city under the slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî".
Bern
Many women also took to the streets in the Swiss capital Bern. Many Swiss and Iranian women took part in the demonstration led by Kurdish women. They protested against the Iranian regime with pictures of Jina Mahsa Amini and slogans. Saadet Kuran, a member of the Bern Women's Council Şehîd Berjin Jinda, declared her solidarity with the uprising in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan on behalf of Kurdish women. Kuran stressed that the women and peoples of Iran wanted democracy and that the world must support this resistance.
