In Maribor, the second biggest city in Slovenia, a public event took place to talk about the achievement of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.
It was not the first time internationalists came to talk about the achievements of the revolution in this city of former Yugoslavia.
The event was held in the framework of Defend Kurdistan's call for action days to protest the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish State in Kurdistan. As the event took place on the anniversary of the massacre of Halabja in South Kurdistan in 1988 it was also intended to be a commemoration of the victims of chemical warfare in Kurdistan.
The main part of the presentation was about the liberation paradigm of Abdullah Öcalan and the struggle of the Kurdish people. As was highlighted during the event, the continuous attacks by Turkey, Iran and its international collaborators are mainly aiming at destroying the hope that the revolution, based on the paradigm of Democratic Modernity in Kurdistan and beyond, has given to anti-system forces all over the world.
Last Tuesday a similar event took place in the Mediterranean city Koper. The solidarity group Rojava kliče! that organised the event, underlined the difficult situation in Kurdistan in the wake of continuous attacks by the Turkish and Iranian states against the people's will for freedom and the devastating earthquake. And also distributed books with Öcalan's thoughts and collected donations for Heyva Sor a Kurdistan.
