Holding a press conference in Diyarbakır on Thursday, the “Southeastern Anatolia Region” group of the Commission of Wise People informed public about its program for the region.

The delegation started its program with a visit to the family of 19-year-old Kurdish boy Murat İzol whose body was found in Dicle River four days ago with a bullet mark on his head. İzol is claimed to have thrown himself into the river on 28 March while escaping from police officers who allegedly shot the Kurdish boy while running after him.

Ensaroğlu underlined that the people here had different feelings, expectations and concerns over the ongoing process for a solution to the Kurdish question. "We want to have the voice of the Kurdish region heard by the rest of the country. We want to determine the conditions and the ground of a together-living with the people living in the Kurdish region which is the central point to determine the whole country's considerations on peace", he noted.

Ensaroğlu said the delegation would stay in Diyarbakır till 13 April and then visit Mardin and Şırnak on 17-20th , Batman and Siirt on 24-27th, Antep and Kilis on 8-11 May and Urfa and Adıyaman on the 15th.

Ensaroğlu remarked that with the visits they aimed to reach all circles bearing different tendencies and attitudes, including political parties and movements, NGOs, religious sects, religious leaders and respected people in the society.

He noted that the commission would also visit the family of Ceylan Önkol, 14-year-old Kurdish girl who was killed in an explosion on 28 September 2009, and families of other children killed in clashes.
