Suicide attack kills 17, injures 35 near Baghdad
At least 17 were killed and 35 were wounded as a result of a suicide attack in the mainly Shiite district of Sadr to the northeast of Iraqi capital Baghdad.
At least 17 were killed and 35 were wounded as a result of a suicide attack in the mainly Shiite district of Sadr to the northeast of Iraqi capital Baghdad.
According to reports, the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who detonated himself in the marketplace called Jamila in the district.
The attack came during the visit of French President François Hollande to the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
Three separate bombings in Baghdad have claimed the lives of 29 people on Saturday, while an ISIS attack targeted a police checkpoint near the southern city of Najaf yesterday, leaving 7 policemen dead.
