A summary of proceedings was issued in order to lift the parliamentary immunity of HDP Co-President Selahattin Demirtaş after President Erdoğan’s speech.

The summary of proceedings was issued in response to the official complaint AKP Vice President Süleyman Soylu had filed regarding Demirtaş’s pre-election statement where he said that "AKP set up a cheating committee of 3 thousand 500 people."

As part of the investigation, Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office claimed that Demirtaş "exceeded the boundaries of free speech and expression."

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office described Demirtaş’s statement as criminal and based its request for the lifting of his parliamentary immunity on the 83rd article of the Constitution.

The summary of proceedings has been sent to the Ministry of Justice before it is presented to the TBMM Presidency.

In his yesterday’s speech, President Erdoğan had said that HDP administrators had to pay a price individually and referred to the 14th article of the constitution.
