Various groups offer support to Imam Sis, who continues his hunger strike on day 71 in Newport, Wales.
The hunger strike in Wales aiming to break the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan continues on day 71. Imam Sis, who continues his hunger strike in the Kurdish Society Center in Newport, Wales, receives visits from various groups.
Plaid Cymru National Assembly for Wales Assembly Member Delyth Jewell and a committee accompanying her visited Sis and shared their solidarity sentiment. Jewell also shared Plaid Cymru Leader Adam Price’s message for Sis. Welsh professor Sue Williams was among Sis’ visitors. Kurdistanis in Wales and Britain continue to visit Sis as well.

Delyth Jewell went to the Kurdish Society Center and had a conversation with Sis, talking about the developments in Kurdistan and the health of hunger strikers in other centers. Jewell said they will always stand with the Kurdish people in their righteous struggle and added that they will extend a series of efforts to draw attention to the resistance. Jewell said they will write to the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) and continue their initiatives in the British government to pressure the Turkish government.

Jewell also shared Plaid Cymru Leader Adam Price’s message, which is as follows:
“I send my solidarity to all my Kurdish comrades and the Kurdish people in the name of all members and administrators of the Plaid Cymru. Your fight is our fight. This is a fight for honor, peace and justice. You carrying this resistance with your bodies for the freedom of your people shows how great your struggle is. We will not stop until the Kurdish people achieve their rights.”
Price concluded his message by writing, "Bijî Kurdistan".
