Swedish International Left Forum in solidarity with HDP
Swedish International Left Forum expressed their solidarity with the unlawfully dismissed mayors of Van, Mardin and Diyarbakır, and with the women reclaiming their will.
Swedish International Left Forum condemned the AKP regime’s seizure of HDP-held metropolitan municipalities of Diyarbakır (Amed), Van and Mardin by removing the democratically elected mayors and appointing governors trustees to take over the administration of the municipalities.
A video message by the Chairperson of the Forum, Johanna Eliasson, accompanied by members of the executive board, says the following;
“We, the International Left Forum, express our solidarity with the women struggling for human rights and democracy. Women are raising their voices countering water cannon and tear gas. Women’s participation in peace processes is decisive.”
Calling upon the Turkish state to respect democratic elections, the International Left Forum executives sent the message “Your struggle is our struggle. Resist Diyarbakır, resist Mardin, resist Van” to the people.
