MP Wiechel: The Coalition should counter supporters of ISIS

Swedish deputy Marcus Wiechel suggested the creation of an international coalition to act against Turkey and the other countries supporting ISIS.

Marcus Wiechel MP said in a written proposal to Parliament that countries that support ISIS, beginning with Turkey, should be countered by an international coalition and asked the Swedish government to investigate the relations and lead the inititiative.

Wiechel reminded of the systematic repression to which minorities and those who think differente are subjected to by Turkey's authoritarian regime and said: "Turkey has violated international law and practice by occupying its neighboring countries. What we see in Syria is pure imperialism."

Wiechel also reminded that the Turkish state's relations with ISIS became more and more evident during the civil war in Syria.

"Foreign jihadists - said the Swedish deputy - have often passed through Turkey to join the caliphate and terrorist organizations in Syria. Turkey was their transit country but most importantly, Kurds and civilians were stopped at the border with Turkey while trying to flee from war. Some of them were fired by border security units."

Wiechel ended his remarks by recalling that in fact "Turkey bought oil and other products from ISIS and al-Qaeda thus providing the terrorist groups with a steady income."
