Swedish MPs say Turkey should stop attacks against Kurdistan

Lorena Delgado Varas, Swedish Left Party MP, and Ylva Larsdotter, the leader of the Uppsala Left Party, said Turkey should end attacks against Kurdistan.

Lorena Delgado Varas said: "Since the end of April, Turkey has attacked several Kurdish centers in northern Iraq,  thus violating international law and illegally entering the territory of another country. This was done without any reaction from the outside world.  I and many others condemn Turkey's attacks on the Kurdish people.  The Kurdish people have defended themselves against the advances of ISIS and Europe and today they need the solidarity of the outside world.  I also call on the Swedish government to take action on this issue, as it has so far been silent on it. We expect more from Sweden's foreign policy."

Ylva Larsdotter said: "On April 17, Turkey launched a new military offensive in northern Iraq. The Kurdish people are suffering. Again, innocent children, young people, women, and old people are targeted. Turkey, which is  a member of NATO, is violating the territory of a neighboring country, both cynical and strategic. The situation is completely unsustainable.  Turkey must stop the attack immediately. The Uppsala Left Party condemns Erdogan's attack. We all support the Kurdish people, especially women and children, who are always oppressed and brutally oppressed."
