Syria urges the UN to make Turkey withdraw its “invasion forces”
Syrian government has denounced Turkey's 'Euphrates Shield Operation' to the UN, vowing to use force in the event that the Turkish military campaign against Syrian soil continues.
According to Syrian state media, the government has urged the United Nations to press Turkey to withdraw "its invasion forces from Syrian land".
The Syrian Foreign Ministry in a letter sent to the U.N. Security Council on Friday accused Turkey of supporting "terrorism that killed tens of thousands" and “destroyed part of the country's infrastructure”.
Friday's statement came a day after Syria's state media reported that Turkish troops shelled Syrian army positions north of the country, killing and wounding several troops.
