Syrian warplanes bomb passenger minibus in Afrin - UPDATE

Syrian warplanes have bombed a passenger minibus travelling from the west Kurdistan city of Afrin to Aleppo on Friday, killing three people and injuring seven others including two children.

According to reports received, the bomb attack was carried out at around 14:00 local time. The identities of victims have not been disclosed yet.

One other aerial attack by the Syrian army claimed the lives of 20 people and injured 54 others in the Kurdish neighborhood of Sheikh Maksoud (Þêx Meqsûd) in Aleppo on September 6. In response to the attack, People’s Defense Units (YPG) forces deployed all its soldiers in the area.

Around 600 thousand of the 3,5 million Kurdish population in Syria live in the Kurdish neighborhoods of Sheikh Maksoud and Eþrefiye in Syria’s second largest city Aleppo. Security in both neighborhoods is ensured by People’s Defense Units forces (YPG).
