Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (also known as the Kurdistan Freedom Hawks, Teyrêbazên Azadiya Kurdistan, or TAK) has released new photos of Abdulbaki Sömer, nom de guerre Zinar Raperîn, who carried out an self-sacrifice action against a Turkish military convoy in capital city Ankara on 17th February.
Six hours after the blast, Prime Minister Davutoğlu stated that the attack had been carried out by Salih Neccar born in 1992 in Amuda area of the Haseke region in Syria. In addition, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went on to claim that they had documents.
As both YPG and PYD co-chair Saleh Moslem that strictly denied involvement in the incident, YPG spokesperson Rêdur Xelil said that the Turkish state was aiming to invade Rojava and accomplish what its proxy war has failed to do. Xelil emphasized that they never attacked Turkey but the Turkish state portrayed YPG as an enemy because of its hostility to Kurdish people.
While insisting that the attack had links to the PYD and YPG, Turkey on the other hand detained father of the militant whose ID details had been announced by TAK. Three days ago, father Musa Sömer was taken into custody in Van and taken to Ankara where he was subject to DNA analysis that determined the identity of the suicide bomber as Abdülbaki Sömer, confirming the declaration of TAK and falsifying the remarks of government officials.
Upon the recent developments, Government Spokesperson Numan Kurtulmuş yesterday said; “That the name is different doesn’t change the reality of the situation”.
Addressing a crowd of mukhtars (village headman) at a traditional meeting in Ankara today, Erdoğan has persistently re-voiced his disturbance by the Kurdish forces in Rojava, saying; “The fact that PYD/YPG is a terrorist organisation as an offset of the PKK should be acknowledged by everyone. Does the recognition of this truth require some other bomb attacks by PYD-PKK in other capitals like Ankara?”
