Ten foreign observers at the elections have been detained while carrying out their activities at polling stations in Kurdish cities.

Four Italians, three French and three German citizens have been detained. Three of the Italians were arrested in Diyarbakir while the fourth was detained in Batman.

It is understood that the detained observers are now being subjected to police checks. Police is accusing the observers to have been carrying out activities at polling stations without the regular accreditation.
