Ten people have been killed and at least 60 others wounded in the artillery attack the Syrian army launched in the mainly Kurdish neighborhoods of Şexmeqsud and Bistan Paşa on Friday. The attack which targeted the region of Mardilli between two neighborhoods came following clashes with militants of the Free Syrian Army.

Four of the civilians killed in the attack are reported to be children.

The treatment for the wounded is provided by a hospital in Efrin. Some of these people are reported to be facing critical situation and the death toll is feared to increase.
