Tens of thousands rally for Soleimani in Tehran

The commander of the Quds Force was killed alongside Hashdi al-Shaabi Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and other militia members in a US air raid in Baghdad.

Tens of thousands of Iranians have taken to the streets today in protest at the killing of General Qassem Soleimani in an air strike ordered by US President Donald Trump at the Baghdad airport last night.

Masses filled the streets after the Friday Prayer, chanting “Death to America” and displaying portraits of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant general and commander of the Quds Force.

During the rally, a group tore apart and burned an American flag while many cried in mourning for Soleimani.

Those taking to the streets included former commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Muhsan Razayi, and dozens of IRGC members.
