Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger: Youth must step up the resistance

Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger said: “The meeting with lawyers showed that if the resistance grows, it is only a matter of time before isolation is lifted.”

Kurdish Revolutionary Youth Movement Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger issued a written statement about the meeting of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan with his lawyers.

"As said in the statement made about the visit, the isolation imposed on our leader has not been removed. This fascist regime, which insists on Byzantine games, has once again tried to break the resistance.”

The statement recalled how “the colonial powers have attempted in many ways to break the resistance since it was launched.”

The statement also recalled how the first attempt to break the resistance was allowing Mehmet Öcalan to meet his brother at the beginning of the year and now allowing lawyers to see him, on 2 May. “We should never forget: These visits happened as a result of the pressure made by the resistance of thousands of comrades on hunger strike, and the martyrs of this resistance. We, as young people, reaffirm our commitment to fight and resist until isolation is finally ended.”

The statement added: “It is time to lead this resistance to victory, to take the heavy burden of our friends on hunger strikes on our shoulders and to break the isolation. The 'honorable peace’ the Leader speaks about is also paramount for us.”

The statement ended remarking that “the meeting with lawyers shows that if resistance grows, it is only a matter of time before the isolation actually comes to an end. It is time to be the answer to the message of our leader by stepping up the resistance against isolation wherever we are. Serî Hilde!”
