The AKP didn’t get it its way in objection in Muş

The ruling party couldn’t accept the three deputies won by the HDP in Muş province in June 24 elections.

On 29 June, the vote count in Malazgirt, Varto, Korkut, Hasköy and Bulanık was carried out again after the AKP objected to the 24 June election results in Muş.

As the results once more were not ‘favourable’ to the AKP, the party turned to the Provincial Elections Board for yet another recount.

The Provincial Election Board rejected the application by concluding that there were no mistakes in the counts made in the 278 polls in the central district and that a new count would not indeed be beneficial.

AKP Muş Provincial Presidency not happy with the decision, turned this time to the Supreme Election Board (YSK).

The YSK rejected the application’s demand to recount the votes confirming the Provincial Election Board’s decision.

The YSK verdict is binding for the applicant.

HDP deputy Gulistan Kılıç Koçyiğit said that the decision of the various bodies confirmed that the HDP had won 3 deputies.

"We fought day and night - she said - to prevent the people being stolen of their votes... We thank all our people for their struggle.”
