Thousands of people in Şırnak and its districts have gathered on Sunday to protest against the ongoing construction of a new military post in the town of Kızılsu.

Members of İHD (Human Rights Association), DÖKH (Democratic Free Women's Movement) and a number of NGOs are also among the protestors who gathered upon the call by BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Şırnak organization.

The protestors have passed the barricade that riot control vehicles and some a thousand soldiers had put up five miles before the town. Thousands are marching to the construction site with military helicopters following them.
