Thousands demonstrate in Aleppo for the freedom of Ocalan

At a demonstration in Aleppo for the freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, thousands also protested against the attacks of the Turkish state.

In the Syrian city of Aleppo, thousands demonstrated for the freedom of the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and against the attacks by Turkey. The demonstration began in the west of the Kurdish neighborhood of Şêxmeqsûd (Sheikh Maqsoud). The participants held pictures and flags with Abdullah Öcalan and demonstrated through the main streets of the neighborhood, chanting slogans calling for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. The demonstration ended at the Martyr Destîna intersection.

Among others, member of the Council of Martyrs’ Families Mihemed Şêxo spoke at the demonstration. He explained that the aggravated isolation imposed on Öcalan is related to the policy of the Turkish state in Syria. "They are very much afraid that Öcalan's ideas will be implemented here," said Şêxo.
