Thousands of immigrants turned back to West Kurdistan
Some 14 thousand people who fled from Rojava to South Kurdistan have turned back to West Kurdistan in the last one month, reported ANHA news agency on Friday.
Immigrants on their way back home are denied permission to use the Sêmalka border gate which has been kept closed for some time and has recently been opened for humanitarian aid by South Kurdistan government. The returnees who are also denied permission to use to border bridge are passing the Dicle river with small boats while turning back to their homeland.
Speaking about the return of Rojava immigrants, Umran Qasim, an official at Sêmalka border gate, said an average of 350-400 immigrants a day turned back their homes in Rojava.
The Health Assembly of Derik has in the meantime stated that they have sent a doctor to Rojava's south border to deal with cases of emergency and vaccination for children.
