Thousands protested the attack on guerrillas' cemetery in Nusaybin

Thousands of people in Mardin's Nusaybin district staged a demo on Wednesday to protest the attack on the Agit Suruç Martyrs' Cemetery in Bendere region near Bagok mountain on Tuesday.

The graveyard of 44 HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas was demolished by Turkish soldiers who also allegedly exhumed the body of HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrilla Ahmet Uğurlar who had been buried in the cemetery on Monday.

The protest demo which was organized by Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Nusaybin district organization was joined by thousands including BDP Mardin deputy Erol Dora, BDP Mardin provincial co-chair Reşat Kaymaz and BDP mayors in the region.

Speaking at the demo, BDP deputy Erol Dora said the attack on the cemetery and the exhumation of Kurdish guerrilla's body from his grave was unacceptable in the ongoing process in search of a peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish question.

This attack is a blow against peace, Dora underlined.
