Thousands rally in Ceylanpınar despite repression

Tens of thousands of people reached Ceylanpınar today despite the heavy police presence and violence. People reached the Syrian border area to show their support to people of Rojava who have been under attack for days now, victim of the violence of al-Qaida-linked armed groups.

The rally was organized by the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) and the DTK (Democratic Society Congress) to support Kurds witnessing massacres in Rojava.

In Viranşehir people was attacked by police. Among the people travelling to Ceylanpınar were BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş and DTK co-chair Aysel Tuğluk. Despite the police violence the convoys coming from every city in Kurdistan and Turkey were finally able to reached Ceylanpınar and met in Fidan Park where speeches were made.
