Police and special operation teams have raided a number of houses in the Şırnak and Yenişehir neighborhoods of Urfa's Viranşehir district early Thursday morning.

Three members of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party), Urfa provincial council member İbrahim Öztürk, Hoşnav Ata and Ferit Süer were taken into custody in the dawn raid and taken to the police directorate of Viranşehir.

Detainees are expected to be taken to Urfa police directorate. The reason for detentions is not known yet.
