Three injured in conflict at Turkish-Syrian border

One soldier and two civilians were injured in the conflict that broke out at Turkey's Syria border on Thursday, reported Abdülhakim Ayhan, Mayor of Akçakale, a district of southern Şanliurfa province, close to the border with Syria.

According to the reports received, a group of Syrians attacked Syrian Customshouse officers who denied them permission to cross Turkey over Akçakale (Kahniya Xezalan) border gate.

The Syrians set some vehicles around on fire. A number of security officers have been sent to the region where gunshots are heard and tension is reported to be continuing.
