Three more arrests over Reyhanlı attacks

Three people were remanded in custody in the southern province of Adana on Thursday in connection with Reyhanlı attacks in which at least 50 people were killed and more than a hundred were injured with car bombs on 11 May.

Four people who were detained in Reyhanlı for alleged ties with the attacks were referred to a court in Adana early Thursday morning. After bearing testimony to a public prosecutor, one among them was released and three others were arrested for allegedly being members of an “armed terrorist organization”.

The number of those remanded in custody in relation with the attacks has risen to seven so far.

Eight suspects had been referred from Hatay to Adana the day before and among them four were remanded in custody, while four others were released by a court.

An alleged suspect accused to have had a leading role in Reyhanlı attacks, was also taken into custody on Thursday. The suspect is claimed to have bought the two minibuses used in the explosions, loaded with explosives.
