Turkish police carried out a raid on a house in Amed’s central Bağlar district early Friday morning. Breaking the door of the house to get in, police carried out a detailed search with dogs. Father M. Emin Akgün was battered before his two children aged 6 and 8.

Following the search, the man, his 4 months pregnant wife and a woman guest were taken into custody.

While the cause of the detention was not disclosed, the detainees were taken to the provincial security directorate.
