TKP-ML celebrates PKK’s foundation anniversary

TKP-ML celebrated the foundation anniversary of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), saying that the PKK could not be stopped despite all kinds of attacks.

The Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist–Leninist (TKP-ML) Middle East Party Committee released a written statement marking the foundation anniversary of the PKK.

“We hail the 43rd anniversary of Partiya Karkêran Kurdistan-PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) with our sincere revolutionary feelings, and wish them continued success in their struggle,” the statement said.

“The PKK is undoubtedly the most advanced movement of the Kurdish Freedom Struggle. It has proved once again that all the values and gains achieved in this respect are the outcome of an armed struggle and guerrilla warfare. The PKK has rewritten the five-thousand-year-old Kurdish history throughout its 43-year-old history of struggle and carved out a free Kurdish identity in the mountains of Kurdistan. At a time when the Kurdish nation is divided into four parts, its right to secede freely has been usurped by fascist reactionary and collaborative states, and a national persecution has targeted them, the PKK has successfully continued the struggle for the Kurdish nation's right to secede freely and for national democratic demands and achieved gains in many areas over the years.

The gains achieved through the Rojava Revolution in Western Kurdistan stem from the PKK’s 43 years of determined and organized struggle.

The Kurdish women who were freed in the mountains of Kurdistan contributed to the Rojava Revolution and suggested the future of women in the Middle East to the peoples of the region. One of the most important achievements of the PKK's 43-year struggle is the emancipation of the Kurdish women. This marks an important threshold for the revolutionary struggle in the region.”

'THEY COULD NOT STOP THE PKK STRUGGLE'

“Despite the collaborative and betrayal policies of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government ruled by the KDP, the Kurdish people throughout Kurdistan favoured the revolutionary resistance and the PKK,” the statement emphasized. “In this respect, the guerrilla struggle has been etched on the hearts of the Kurdish people. It has defeated the invading Turkish forces in many parts of the Medya Defence Zones such as Garê, Avaşîn, Behdinan, Heftenîn, Zap, Werxelê. Despite the chemical attacks of the Turkish army, the guerrilla's struggle cannot be eliminated, and the guerrilla forces inflict heavy blows on the fascist Turkish army. Moreover, despite the 22 years of isolation and torture against PKK’s leader Abdullah Öcalan, the Kurdish National Freedom Struggle could not be stopped. Despite the pressures, arrests and tortures against all democratic organizations of the Kurdish nation, the outcry of the Kurdish people on the streets has not been suppressed.

“The Kurdish National Freedom Struggle has also become an important part of the revolutionary struggle carried out in Turkey. The PKK occupies an important place in the formation and development of a united struggle against fascism and the Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH). Currently, the liberation of all oppressed people persecuted by Turkish fascism is closely connected with a united struggle,” the statement concluded.
