TOMIS union members working at the Plasmek Factory in Sancaktepe left their jobs to demand the reinstatement of their dismissed friend.
Workers who are members of the All Automotive and Metal Workers Union (TOMIS) working at the Plasmek Factory in Sancaktepe in Istanbul stopped production to protest the 25 percent interim hike as of Monday. After production stopped, the employer fired a worker. To protest the dismissal of their friend, the workers did not go back to work, they wore the aprons of their union and started a vigil in front of the factory on Tuesday.
Workers: We will continue our action until our friend is reinstated
The workers stated that they will continue their protests until their friend is reinstated to work and the increase asked is received. On the other hand, on Tuesday, union members and representatives met with the employer to demand that the workers' demands be accepted.
