Toronto hunger striker Iba refused treatment and continues fast

Iba stressed that he will continue the hunger strike and refuse treatment despite the health problems that may arise.

Yusuf Iba, who is on a hunger strike in Toronto, Canada, refused hospitalization and continues his action.

Iba went on hunger strike in the Kurdish Society Center in Toronto 30 days ago.

He joined the hunger strike action led by the DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven.

He was taken to hospital once again on Sunday night.

Iba, who does not accept treatment, continues his action. On his return from the hospital, he  said: “Leyla started the resistance 96 days ago. Today we continue our action with a great morale and enthusiasm. In Canada there is remarkable support for this action. We especially saw this in the hospital, where we explained to doctors the reason for this action which is putting a person’s body at stake.”

Iba stressed that he will continue the hunger strike and refuse treatment despite the health problems that may arise.

Iba who had heart spasm before, was hospitalized last night because of shortness of breath and heart rhythm disorder.
