Town Hall in Paris awards Gultan Kisanak medal

Choisy-le-Roi Town Hall in Paris, France awarded imprisoned Amed Metropolitan Mayor Gultan Kisanak a medal.

The Choisy-le-Roi commune in suburban Paris will “honor” Amed Metropolitan Municipality’s imprisoned Co-mayor Gultan Kisanak, who was identified as “a figure in the struggle for democracy in Turkey” by the commune, with a town hall medal. The ceremony will be held today and the medal will be presented to representatives for Kisanak from Kurdish associations.

Mayor Didier Guillaume from the Communist Party stated that Kisanak has been on remand for over two years and has a 14-year prison sentence, adding that “all political prisoners in Turkey, women and men, should be released”.
