Treatment of 27 prisoners in Amed continues

9 prisoners have been discharged from hospital while 27 others continue receiving treatment.

Treatment continues for the activists whose massive hunger strike and death fast action against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan has ended up in victory.

While the prisoners from Diyarbakır D Type and Women’s Closed Prison continue receiving treatment at Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital, 9 prisoners were discharged from hospital yesterday.

The 9 prisoners, Adnan Yiğittekin, Ahmet Topkaya, Bahattin Demir, Rıdvan Kaya, Mazlum Dilek, Cüneyt Aslan, Nimetullah Cinkılıç, Sercan Gümüş and Kumri Tokay, were taken back to prison after the end of their treatment.

The prisoners who remain under treatment in the hospital are: Abdulhalik Kaplan, Enver Dönmez, Ergin Akhan, Evin Kaya, Ferhat Turgay, Hayati Üzmez, Hilal Ölmez, Kibriye Evren, Veysi Taşçı, Ahmet İpek, Mazlum Teke, Mehmet Aksu, Mehmet Sıddık Kıvanç, Ramazan Yılmaz, Faruk Akbay, Fırat Ertunç, Mahsun Saruhan, Recep Bal, Ahmet Tabu, Mehmet Polat, Servet Kaya, Saban Çelik, Mazlum Ekinci, Mehmet Sait Yiğit, Numan Sinbağ, Recep Özkılıç and Servet Kılıç.

19 more prisoners are expected to be discharged from hospital and to return to prison.

In the meantime, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputies Saliha Aydeniz and Remziye Tosun who are closely following the treatment of prisoners have met with the chief physician of the hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erkan Baysal.
