Tribute to Sakine Cansiz in International Peoples’ Conference

The International Peoples’ Conference in Venezuela organized by the Landless Workers' Movement commemorated Sakine Cansiz.

The International Peoples’ Conference in Venezuelan capital Caracas organized by the Landless Workers' Movement has started.

The conference is organized to bring global struggles for freedom together to discuss methods to fight back against imperialism, capitalism, sexism, industrialism, racism and all exploitation mechanism, and this year’s version included a photo of Sakine Cansiz, PKK founder who was murdered on Janaury 9, 2013 in Paris, among the photographs of martyred leaders.

The conference was to be held with 1500 delegates, but the format was changed due to political developments in Venezuela preventing travel for participants.

The conference, which supports current president Nicolás Maduro against the possible coup in Venezuela because of the crisis, started with a large cultural activity held by Venezuelans. Later an analysis of global political developments was held in the conference.

Participants saluted the peoples of Kurdistan and Palestine and other fighting peoples.

CANSIZ INCLUDED AMONG REVOLUTIONARY LEADERS

Against several obstacles, the conference was held with 300 international and 200 Venezuelan delegates. A tribute was prepared for martyred leaders throughout the world, which included Sakine Cansiz, PKK founder who was murdered on January 9, 2013 in Paris.

The conference will continue for 3 days.
