As many as 100 people including Akdeniz Municipality Co-mayor Yüksel Mutlu had been taken into custody as part of the total crackdown on DBP municipalities last week.

Following the detentions, Akdeniz District Governor Hamdi Bilge has been assigned as trustee to the municipality today.

The municipality is surrounded with riot police and armored vehicles and nobody is allowed to approach the building.
