Tuğluk: it is now the government's turn

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Van organization has held a public meeting on Thursday to provide the public with information on recent political developments in the country.

Speaking at the public meeting in the town of Bostaniçi, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Aysel Tuğluk said that they were telling the public about the negotiation process in line with the demand of Abdullah Öcalan. She said they would also report the demands of the people and give it to the Kurdish leader so that the process could be shaped together with the people, as is wanted by Öcalan.

Referring to the withdrawal of HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas accross the border, Tuğluk said the withdrawal was a significant step which will contribute to the process and enable its progress in a quick and healthy way. “The state has not offered a solution to the Kurdish question so far, saying that it was because of the guerrillas presence. Now that HPG is withdrawing from Turkish borders today, it is the government's turn to take a step”, she added.
