Turkey declares its border with Syria a “military security zone”

Antep Governorate has declared the Syrian border a “military security zone” for 15 days.

The governor of the northern Kurdistan province of Antep has once again declared the entire area along the border line with Syria a so-called military security zone.

According to a statement issued on Friday, the ban in effect since yesterday will last for 15 days, "as a measure to ensure border security and well-being".

Access to the special security zone is strictly prohibited and crossings may only be carried out if authorized by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and Police Directorate.
